My Dining Room

My family moved into our house almost two years ago. I really like our little house, however we are renting and that poses a few problems. Our landlord is great and said we can pretty much do whatever we would like, but we have to consider how much time and effort we want to pour into a house that is not ours. We have dived in and did some painting in the smaller rooms, but we have a pretty big living room with high ceilings that flows into the dining room. They are beige. I am not against beige, but I tend to lean on the conservative side when picking big furniture items so our whole house just looks beige.

Are you still with me? I know this is going on and on. Ok, so to my point!! I am trying to add colors in my accessories. So I found this killer rug for the dining room for $30 bucks at an antique shop!! I know crazy right?!




I loved the oranges and yellows in it so I brought it home much to my husbands dismay. It looks great under the dining table (which my husband and refinished ourselves- i will post on that in the near future).

I got some time while my boys napped, so I rearranged my dining room a bit. Let me know what you think!




Ok- so I have to fill you in on Maria. Yes, I named my art! The Junk in the Trunk Trio along with hubbies went to Canada on vacation and we stopped in Spokane. We of corse had to go to Goodwill and I saw her. Her eyes melted my heart an I had to have her. She was $1.99 on sale 50%!!! I couldn't pass her up and for only a dollar she was a steal! I lugged her all the way home on the airplane with lots of giggles from my friends and she made it safely home where we all can enjoy her!!!
